This session will provide the audiences with in-depth theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience in designing, developing, and evaluating digital products across a range of platforms and state-of-the-art technologies. The session places a strong emphasis on the development of professional technical skills that are in high industry demand and will position the audiences well for careers around the field of user experience (UX).
  • IV7. Motor Design Via The Intergrating ANSYS Electronic Desktop with Deep Reinforce Learning (Organized by NCHC)
In the process of manufacture, the happens of failure is unavoidable. This phenomenon of failure in a life cycle of product is called “bathtub curve” because of its shape with the higher part at begin stage and end stage, which explain the relationship between failure rate and different time stage. In the curve, the begin part is called “infant failure”, caused by being unfamiliar to the product, and this stage also represent the develop and test stage in the product’s life circle. To decrease the failure rate at infant failure stage, the application of Computer aided engineer (CAE) technology is generally used during the design stage. CAE can help designer to calculate the physical reaction though the computer graphic. However, design of each product depends on much experience and domain knowledge. Therefore, Artificial Intelligence(AI) is generally known as the a good solution to solve the experience-depend question. In this topic, the motor designing is the example with being simulated by the CAE software ─ ANASY Electronic Desktop (ANSYS ED) and connecting the AI algorithm ─ Deep Reinforcement Learning (RL). ANSYS ED is a kind of CAE software to simulate the electromagnetic reaction though the finite element method (FEM), and RL is a kind of optimization with the learning ability which is different from other general optimization algorithm. Through the integrating the CAE with AI, the result show that is available to aiding design and automatic design. In addition, the mothed and the result can be expected to be used in another product design.
  • IV8. Applied Energy and Engineering (Organized by Prof. Shuhn-Shyurng Hou, Kun Shan University)
    Invited Papers Only
  • IV9. Post-Occupancy Evaluation in Design (Organized by Prof. Meng-Cong Zheng, National Taipei University of Technology)
The POE process provides value-neutral prompts to stimulate stakeholders to make testable observations about their experiences of public effect on productivity and well-being. These observations are clarified and documented by the evaluator. Stakeholders’ testable observations will be specific to public design and operating conditions to realize the optimum ways of achieving productivity and well-being. POE evaluators recommend monitoring, research, investigation, or project management studies. Designers can use POE to interpret design phenomena and attempts to help designers understand their users’ minds and behaviors as well as improve their ability to promote more effective public design. This session welcomes all researches related to POE for design works.
  • IV10. MADF2020 (I) All art and design related works are welcome to present (organized by Prof. Liang-Yin, Kuo, Department of Multimedia Design, National Formosa University, Taiwan, R.O.C.)
